Info

Unstable Ape Records is an independent record label, originally founded in Tasmania but now based in Melbourne, Australia. Unstable Ape’s focus tends primarily towards indie rock and roll, but also expands its interest to contemporary folk (Laura Jean, Marissa Nadler), jazz (Christopher Hale Ensemble) and world music (Zulya). In the early 2000s, the label became a home to many Melbourne indie rock bands including Love of Diagrams, Bird Blobs, No Through Road and Ninetynine.

In 2007 Unstable Ape Records established a partnership with Remote Control, with the label’s catalogue and future releases distributed by Inertia and Remote Control providing the label’s roster with extensive promotional and marketing support.

Unstable Ape Records looks forward to another big year with new albums from Zulya & the Children of The Underground, No Through Road, SIR and the debut release from new Melbourne outfit Spider Vomit.
